Warm Did wash, A helped Mr. P. paint car, At noon Neely & Leah came bringing nicotine flowers, planted & loose. We all walked over other island & peered in all the cottages back & had hot chocolate etc. very nice time.

Letter from A's Mother.

Wea. FRI. OCT. 19, 1928 Ther.

Beautiful & warm. A to Stamford with Mr. Pratt. I sat on rocks in bathing suit & in [[underline]] swimming at noon. [[/underline]] Sat on porch sewing in afternoon. Read James Joyce in evening, Thunder Storm Mother called up, comes Sat. Wonderful letter from Steiglitz he's been ill, heart trouble.

Wea. Clear. SATURDAY 20 Ther.

Cleaned house, A & I down with Mr. Pratt to Stamford, did errands and met Mother at 1.40. Mr. Taylor with her. Mother crazy about place - showed her my paintings she liked them much. A wrote to Stieglitz - & sent him "Transition. A sent check to Bill.
