Thurs. JANUARY 3
Arthur to N.Y. with Pictorial R. ill. Steinmetz not there, but lady assistant liked it very much.
I cleaned house, lay down for for an hour, and Arthur back a little after two. We had lunch and went for a drive to Royton Beach. Saw a beautiful sloop named "Eaglet". Yelled at owner and asked if it was for sale. [[underlined]] No [[/underlined]] it was not. Nor did he know of one like it, "though a lot of old hulks around".
Back and I lay down & read N. Yorker while Arthur wrote his daily ideas.
