Quite a day
36
FEBRUARY 5 Tuesday
Both up early and to New York. First to [[underline]] Pictorial R. [[/underline]] with drawing. Steinmetz liked way it was done & left side but didn't like "girl for a cent." A fixed her & put more color on man. So that is [[underline]] finally [[/underline]] in, thank the Lord. I picked out a pattern while waiting next to Harry Beyers & got Arthur a double breasted grey suit. Then up by bus to Cafe Richelieu & had a good lunch with pair of Dry Martini cocktails.
Then next to Dobbs, fatally around the corner. Bought me a $30.00 hat - Ye Gods! and a 55.00 coat & skirt. Had a merry time notwithstanding my anguish at price of coat. To Brentanos & got "Explanation of Relativity" by Bertrand Russell. Home on 4.20. Read "E. of R." in evening. A telephoned Hank, Holly getting on O.K.
