SEPTEMBER 12 Thursday -
I to N.Y. on 8.55 train - Telephoned [[Schugh?]] for paint.  Went to Art Center, Ex joint over.  To Brentanos - No Little Reviews.  To Lord & Taylors to look at silks.  
Then to Grand Central - went to Bulletin B. & find Mother's track - 19.  Met her and Little Mary who is darling, has a blissful smile - Found Chub, Edith, Caroline & Matilda in waiting room.  All by taxi to an Alice McDougal restaurant & lunch - After that to a 5&10 & presents all around.  Back to G.C. for bags, then to Penns. station & all to homes.

Arthur had done a beautiful painting - high green - low red - [[underlined]] "Image" [[/underlined]]  I said I was glad to be back where people were harmonious for Chub and Edith [[underlined]] don't [[/underlined]] love each other.

Friday (S) SEPTEMBER 13
Up rather late and not much done but cleaning studio after absence of day.

A telegram from Paul saying he would meet us at Monticello Inn at Neuberg.

A painting.

I telephoned Chub asking if Mother would stay here but she thinks she'd better there this time & will come on in Oct.
