OCTOBER 6 Sunday (S)
Straightened up rooms.
Both over to boat for things. Mc[[Glones?]] gave us some scallops which we scalloped - very good.
Blades & Eleanor here.
A matted drawings - we think they're very snappy, hope Mr. Alestair ditto.
In afternoon A took nap, I read papers.  In evening both wrote to both Eddys.

Monday - OCTOBER 7
A up at 5.30, I awake at 6.
A to New York with Liberty drawings. I for ice. Cleaned bedroom & studio.  Wrote up 2 weeks diary.
Started painting - grey and red "plaque".
Arthur back at 2.30 bring books to me - "I Thought of Daisy" by Edmond Wilson, and "The Case of Miss R." by Adler.  Also some writing paper.
Mr. Alestaire liked the drawings very much, seemed surprised to get as much.  Said A would get check next day.
I got painting mostly in.
We read aloud from "I Thought of Daisy". Both funny and thoughtful.
