Several pages of Springfield Republican came from E.M.C.
[[strikethrough]] I to N.Y. to see Dr. Beck - Elizabeth telephoned & met me there, for & took me to lunch. She looked absolutely lovely, though is not very well.
Dr. Beck doesn't know yet what causes temp. [[/strikethrough]]
Walter Lister here in evening wanted to write up Bessie story.

Wednesday - MAY 24
Took letter from Stieglitz - & page from Springfield Republican about his collection of photographs having gone to Metropolitan Museum. He said Arthur's article in same paper was capital, the best yet.
[[strikethrough]] I in bed all day with severe cold. Arthur did a grand water color of me, so cold not entirely a waste. [[/strikethrough]]
