4 eggs today Wednesday - AUGUST 23 Arthur to O'Brien's office at 9 A.M. after a flat tire & no starter. Mr O'Brien thinks not enough reason for farm loan, but is going to try to think of a way to put it about tile & brick plant no longer working. In afternoon I started to fix suit Elizabeth gave me, Arthur & I then for a walk along creek, found mist & charming white floors, "arrow heads," with pointed leaves. In the evening Arthur & Paul to a wheat growers meeting. I read some of the Elizabethan poets. A letter from Davidson - he'll be here Mon. or Tues. next. [[end page]] [[start page]] Thursday AUGUST 24 I sewed on Elizabeth's suit. Arthur worked on books, Paul here in P.M. working too. Wrote to Mother in evening.
