Sunday  SEPTEMBER 24
Nice weather part of day, thunder storms in late afternoon.  Both washed John - she'd never heard of such a thing & put up a battle.  Mr Meybel here about 10 A.M. He and Arthur for samples of soil & mushrooms. I washed hair.  In afternoon Arthur and I out for apples & wood - got a basket of former & truck full of latter. We sat on our brick porch and enjoyed the mild weather, sky & each other.  A nice day.

Arthur out early got mushrooms, took reel to Mr Weatherly - Diagnosed sick hen.
Monday  SEPTEMBER 25
Fine mail.  Check for $100.00 from Mr. Phillip's - Letter from Bill enclosing passport papers for Arthur to fill out & a letter to me, also many clippings from E.  Arthur & I down town - he attended to Bill's passport, hat notory sign.  Saw Mr. OBrien who wanted A & P to give more information on farm house.  A tried to get P - no answer to telephone.  Shortly after we got home De Forest Weatherly here with his sick chicken to be operated upon. Arthur Did it.  Mr. Weatherly overcome with gratitude, & almost so by operation.  Arthur then down town again, after visit from Charlie Dorsay to measure for electric lights.
