Wednesday. DECEMBER 27 4 above Both up betimes, expecting reporter from Rochester Democrat & Chronicle for interview with Arthur. But he did not come. Nebel here at 8.30 with tray of photographs with ice on them. Very fine ones a piece of us. Cleaned house - waited - but no reporter - In afternoon - both composed a long letter to Duncan Phillips. I also wrote to E. A big wonderful looking box from E. all sorts of delicacies, cheese, fishes, candies etc. etc. [[strikethrough]] in mail [[/strikethrough]] by express. [[end page]] [[start page]] Thursday. DECEMBER 28 Straightened things up, and reporter - Mr O'Brien did come at 10.30 & stayed until 2. An unusual person to have appear from a paper - Real feeling, and awareness. A nice talk with him, and he took 16 photographs of Arthur, Arthur & me, & the [[strikethrough]] steam [[/strikethrough]] "Road Scraper" painting. Then in came Paul, Dorothy, & Bob - All very pleasant. Had letters from Jean Fuerstanberg, Mrs Lockman, & other cards.
