Tuesday MAY 29 Arthur and I to Geneva each got shoes. I feeling low, intermittently & lay down in afternoon. A letter from Mother wanting me to go to Hartford, nothing about coming here. I liked take off but not after we got up, a great feeling of tension & pressure, & almost deaf where I got out. Arthur liked it, made a drawing & did not feel as I about it. In evening we went to Carnival, met Mildred Wheat & Paul, had our fortunes told. Back to house, a riot started. Paul telephoned for more police, two men arrested. to bed at 12.
