I say, "Well Mr Atwood I consider you've broken faith with me - You asked for that picture & promised to look to it that it was placed & you place it ill; so I think I'd better take it, if you cannot give it now a good place."  He says he cannot now and so we go down & take it down.  Good.  Feel much better  Mr Atwood pleads with me that there be no hard feelings.  Usual stuff from the man of money who forces his villainous power over your helplessness. gave Riordan managing editor of Heralds "Advertiser" talking to about the need of looking after the artists in the press and how he wrote "Yours to command for art 
and artists"  Decent very decent so Miss Oliver says she has her stuff in for Sunday  Says she doesn't like T Bernsteins things at all.  Thinks Adelaide Chase's portrait best thing there I agree about Cornyer doesn't like it.  Agree on show to Vals place but she says "You're going to have one of your own."  On to Vals who wants to get a poster for my show.
    Saturday 17 Aug. fine breezy summer day.  So on to studio PM stop in Vals a minute [[?]] go over to Brown's studio which has the inclined runway going up.  Val says Brown is a chap who made money selling coal and is now deep in painting. Pleasant tall thin chap has a few things good.  Says [[strikethrough]] she'll [[/strikethrough]] he'll [[strikethrough]] pa [[/strikethrough]] sit for me 
    Sunday 18 Aug. PM over to Gallery on way to Vals find Miss Sahlir the sculptor there who says Miss Oliver is sorry I took out my  picture.  Anderson came along and I introduce Miss S. to him   Miss Oliver then comes over and I introduce her.  Mrs Anderson [[hourry]] news & I introduce her to Miss Oliver.  Go up to see Brooks medals & find Miss Sahlir again who is looking for Mr Brush.
