Sir. A few days ago I had Letters from Scotland in which my Young Son of 15 Months Old went a Passager to Glasgow, as a Paragraph does grt Honour to You I think it a Justice due Your Merite to acquaint you in my Father in Laws own Words: "We drank Tea with Grandma Ainslee. [[strikethrough]] So being in th dining Room, th Infant eyed your Picture, he sprung to it, roared, and schrieked [[sic]] and attempted Gripping th hand.

Monday 27 Jan. Stop at Montross to see Gari Melchers Ex. Boudoin comes in We sit down John Sloan then comes + when he sees me he runs over with great cordiality and puts out his hand. Talks a lot about his independent show. Don of the American then comes in + I Introduce him to Sloan. Pretty soon McBride of the Sun comes in with Montross + they stand in our group
I say [[strikethrough]] Mr S [[/strikethrough]] "Here is the man who comes to see a show of Gari Melchers and then writes about Theophile Gautier." McBride says "That's right and laughs. Montross chuckles Sloan beams Boudoin cackles and Don opens his mouth wide as I introduce him to McBride. Don mentions the "Art News" and the infamous note Townsend prints about him. Sloan says "Why that's actionable" McBride says "He'll be printing your picture next" Then turns to me and says "Why don't you have a rogues gallery in the "Art News." That brings the house down. Sloan gets to argueing about the Independent show, and his great wish to have it in a big tent on Riverside Drive and as he gets excited Boudoin backs off and says cackling "Now go at it you two fellers[[?]] I like to see you scrap." Go out with Don who says to let him know if I'm doing anything I want noticed. Stop over
