Tuesday 11 Mar  over to Brooklyn find Nan & Lily  Show Nan Brooklyn Eagle with note of my portrait of John.  She tells John about it over the phone.  Stop at A A A to see coll.  Meet J Frances Murphy there talking to Kirby.  He puts out his hand and says "How are you this morning?  [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] I ask him what he thought about the Montross sale.  I tell him reason it didnt go higher was because I had no advance shot at it  He laughs & says "Thats right"  I say "Those things of Arthur Davies pulled down the sale"  He says "You hit the nail right on the head that time.  R. Ireland the dealer is with him  Says he didnt get the one in Ms studio  I ask Murphy what he has in this show  "Oh, he says "Its no good  an old one  no good."  I go up to see it & find it very remarkable for light - a green spring thing with brilliant midday sky.  Very fine.

Wed 12 Mar.  See Don who has been able to get no ads at all but informs me that Muller over the phone wants me "to be sure to give him a copy of the first number" - Now 
I see how it goes with these poor chaps, Why wont they wake up  Stop at Kraushaar's and I hear someone yell at me as I go in from a dark corner near K's desk.  There following me into Sloan's show comes George Luks  "Hello Britton! How are ya?"
We have a long talk & George asks O "How do you like Fitch Hoyt?"
