    Friday 16 May  All day at the printers, inlaying last forms to prevent offset.  Force the [[crest?]] on cover & make Richter stay to print several covers so I can have them in morning.  Fierce hot day  Try Babcock for some money.  None.  Desperate broke.  Go to [[strikethrough Fed?]] Cargels and after munch talk induce Price to give me a check for ten.  Then slow to cash it.  no dinner yet 9 P.M. nothing since morning.  Walk from [[Borogh?]] Hall to Nans  find her at Mrs Mathers, and cashes for me.  Stay a long time too long then home.
     Sat morn 17 May  Paper out, up to printers early, fold up 25 copies and depart.  Find all the dealers crazy about the paper and get checks from all but Levy who promises to sign a check drawn in his absence [[strikethrough]] returning [[/strikethrough]] returning right away.  Go over to Daniels & D says  "It's all right I'm strong for it  I'm with you".  The little monkey poet before he sees it says when I ask for a photo of the [[Glackens?]] girl "Oh the art season is over."  I say "Is it?  It's just begun today!" but deliberately hold the paper close until Daniel comes. He laughs with Daniel and the poet all have a good time but young chap refuses to give his name.  I tell them that Marin sells and all pictures will because of what's written about them.     Drop in to Knoedlers find Mrs Steinner, give her a copy and she says she'll subscribe, says she'll talk advertising to the house again. At Kingores K introduces me to Raymond Wyer director Worcester Mus. who says he's heard of my new paper.  I give him a copy and he asks me to stop at W & see him.  He is resplendent in a light grey oatmeal color suit.  Kingores young lady is very much pleased with the paper, and is very cordial.  Get my checks together and start for Brooklyn to cash them.
