Tuesday.  4.26 train for Bridport trolly to New Haven, find mother not very well.  But Annie quite back to her old self.  Ern says that his brother George who comes back from Europe on the Leviathan is dead & buried in Hartford.  The Army overworked him building barracks in France and as a result of strain operated badly for appendicitis - Ill a long time with infection.  He told Lily George did that in the hospital in France.  The orderlies kicked him and said "Die, die!"

Wednesday  AM off by trolly to Meriden to see the building lots we own.  Find them 4 25 foot ones on hill 2 minutes walk from trolly track ten minutes ride from city of Meriden RR station (South Meriden line trolly) on a hill south side of Harrington St just east of Washington St. house down at foot of hill on main line Hanover St.  No other house till top of hill.  Call at that house and woman there pleasantly gives information.  Says she Mrs [[space]] owns her house lot 62 feet and 150 feet garden.  Then she says Stevens a real estate man claims to own 50 feet  another 75 feet is owned by a man named Carney leaving 100 feet to us.  Her story about Seven's raises doubt in my mind as to her claim.  She says he offered to sell her husband but he questioned Stevens right, or at least seemed to doubt it.
