Down in Gloster stop at Savoy Hotel - all right - clean, get a good sleep.  Then went to see Val  meet old man who rents house his studio & go up with him to see young [[Wenson?]] who says place we had last year is rented.  Ralph [[Walen?]] says his father died 3 weeks ago.  Stop at Mrs Lyles - find her crabbed as usual.  Find Val in  give him some money & he says he'll put up a place for me if I get the [[numbers?]].
