First in Gaelic then in English. [scribble] Very quietly stands behind a table and says "I'm not a speech maker, there is work to do much work.  I'm more used to answering questions as a teacher than making speeches.  There is much about the Irish question in your newspapers especially the Irish newspapers the "Irish World" and the "Gaelic American".  Modest man quiet no ranter, plain business practical head.    Tuesday 24 June Carol says she thinks her child is coming so I get a taxi for her & she goes over to hospital.  Telephone her grandmother who arrives at 3.30  In eve I go over to hospital  child not yet arrived. Spend night at nans. get hospital on [[ wire?]]  no birth yet.
   Wednesday 25 June.  Call up hospital. Carol has had the child  another girl, doing well.  Nan smiles, all smile.  Said, "Come to see grandma."  Bring ice cream for children  Have Janey dish it out for them and herself. Our girls back and neck flaming red from her picnic sunburn.  Has her blonde hair done up and looks

Branton comes over leaving a Dallar Society woman who is trying to manage a show (Mrs. Rogers) down there & B says "That first number was delightful.  That was a good one you handed our friend, gentler than I expected, but good."  I say, "All he needs, that chap, he's too small for anything more."  B says "Too soft." I say "Too small.
