from the National Review pub at Duke St London
There can be little doubt that if the war had lasted another year or 18 months the Auxiliary would have counted among the first-rate armies of the world. - x The Americans estimate that 46 German divisions were engaged against them on the Argonne. According to the French the Germans engaged about 60000 rifles against 260,000 Americans.
from the National Review
In Sep 1918 General Herzog foreshadowed an appeal to Pres Wilson to secure "Self determination" for So Africa. The 14 points are construed to the back veld as proof that Wilson & the US who alone are given all the credit - or discredit - of bringing Germany to terms (it's not admitted that Germany is defeated) we determined and possess the powers to enforce freedom for every and any section that demands it anywhere in the world."
