At Voses Saturday while I was talking to RCV a young man passed through the gallery with a picture. RCV called to him to hold it up for me to see. He did so and Vose says "isn't that a beautiful Ryder?" Thats the original picture of the Forest of Arden from Nature." When the young man went off Vose says "Do you know that boy?" I say no Vose says "That's young Blakelock" I say "Who? V says "young Blakelock son of the painter, one of them." Quiet nice boy he seemed. I didn't see him again. This was Saturday and as I write this Monday morning in New Haven at 6 AM. I read in the Currant that Blakelock the painter died yesterday in a camp in the Adirondacks where he'd gone for the Insane Asylum.
