says "There are lots of things I want to talk to you about that paper."  I say "Why don't you write something."  She says "What about."  I say "Write about yourself."  She takes the bait and says "Oh Mr Nelson asked me to write about myself for the "Studios".  An old lady comes over with three pears and smiles as she offers Jane one. Then she offers me one & I say "But you'd better keep them yourself -- Jane says to her 'Yes give him one [[strikethrough]] he's a good [[/strikethrough]] he's a handsome man give him a pear."  Just then out bounds a young man in grey clothes.  Jane introduces him, says he was with Gempel & Wildenstein. but not now.
  He looks over the paper likes it and as I talk about the Twachtman, Jane says to me [[strikethrough]] Youg [[/strikethrough]] "You ought to have been a salesman that way you talk."  I go into the Murray house & find Miss [[Thorne?]] selling B pictures out of her show.  She says [[she'll?]] Ad  20  I leave her a paper & she says she'll get subscriber.  Good. .  Start off for East G.  Meet Tupper of Gloster Times. who says "Let me know if I can do anything down here for you  will only be too glad.  Go over to East G. partly expecting to go of Atwoods Gallery opening but decide not to.  Kronberg had asked me over to the Studio at B. .  Go up on the Mar & pick

some berries.  Look up through the bushes to the little house I had last summer.  I think of the good time the [[strikethrough]] Kids [[/strikethrough]] kids had picking berries  Go down toward the Inn.  Meet Kronburg who asks if I've been to the show.  Say "No I don't think I will.  I dont believe in the thing the way Atwoods doing it."  K demurs but I convince him of my point.  He says " take the key off the studio door & go in  Goodwin will be there soon.  I'll be right back."
   On way down big auto full of people [[rush?]] past & I hear Miss Oliver calling to me as it passes with hello, hello, do driver oh hello hello.  I'd stopped at her place before and found it closed.  Down to Ks  find Goodwin & after a little [[sag?]] off to Boston.  Goodwin takes me to supper at a little simple place where the proprietor has pictures by Val & other Boston ones on the walls.  The simple plain men we meet there are interested in pictures and they treat Goodwin like a comrade.  One [[gives?]] me by name & asks me to see his strikethrough]] situff [[/strikethrough stuff & Goodwin tells him he ought to take my paper.
