Oct 25 The little chap at Macbeths told me today that Carlsen (Emil) came in when they had one of Weirs [[strikethrough]] hudting [[/strikethrough]] hunting pictures and said "That's a fine Weir oh a very beautiful Weir Oh but what a pity he doesn't draw" I imagine Carlsen talking like that. I take the little chap over to Carlsens woodland upright and explode "Draw how about this does Carlsen call this drawing. Trees don't do this. Weirs trees are real [[live?]] trees and thats the way he draws subtly [[feverly?]], not formally summarily as Carlsen does here." The boy agrees. He speaks of the G. Fuller Turkey picture. Says they have no Twachtman's now. The [[strikethrough]] [[best?]] [[/strikethrough]] boy agrees about Murphy.
Stop at Lawtons who says he has a man who wants a Twachtman and want me to get over the one.
