Monday 8 Dec  Stop to see Dudensing & get photos of Innes & Wyant to reproduce & check for 30 for 1/2 page.  At Silos stop to see sale stuff.  See Little Weir and Minor  McDough comes in & says he sold many of the ps.  Tells me Weir is dead.  See Cap Nave & Dickinson & Woolf.
Tuesday 9 Dec  at Schultheiss meet Hetherington of Chicago there  Mr. Grat says my paper is great  Says to Hetherington "Mr. Britton is a great writer.  Listen to this"  He reads the paragraph about Sargents ante Jewish decoration very carefully and with the true sense of it.  Hetherington says he wants to subscribe and pays [[strikethrough]] his [[/strikethrough]] right away.  Mr Schultheiss comes in & I arrange for half-page for 6 months.  Mr. S. giving an advance check for $50.  Use a Ranger for them.  H says he'll write from Chicago.  
   Wednesday 10 Dec.  Stop at Higgins & find Anita Rio there.  Higgins laid up with cold.  Tells me the story of

"Kentucky" who was in Paris and who is now a litho man.  H says he could paint   Return 5 to Miss Rio who loaned
   Over to Brooklyn.

   Thursday  Rain rain

   Friday 12 Dec  rain Academy private view.  Meet Ennis as I go in then Vonnoh and Jonas Lie.  Go in & set in Vanderbilt. . Groll comes over then Geo Elmer Browne.  Browne introduces young Mr. Eddy.  Nisbet comes over and says he's hung about where he figured.  Dickinson comes in & tells me how Jersey Walcott knocked out Harry Kemp at the Lantern when Kemp insulted some of the people at his table.  The way G tells it is immense.  Quite lifts the terrible depression of the varnishing crowd of conceited artists.  Hassam comes in then McBride  Beal comes over.  Then Hayley Lever.  Then Vonnoh comes back & sits down to chat.  Tells Dickinson I wrote a great article about him once but thinks I have changed toward him.  I tell Vonnoh I have a big resume show of his work.  He thinks so.  Went in Rembrandts.  As I talk with V & Dickinson leaves/Groll
