May 12, 1950
     To woods 6:35 - 9:00a.m.
Overcast; temp 40-50's, no breeze.
New arrivals:
1. [[underline]] Evening Grosbeak [[/underline]] (1)
"screech - screech- clink" over and over; very nervous actions; rapid flight about pony field, up to old house with stained glass windows, then over to ravine. Watched it for several minutes in good light, as close as 35-40 feet. First I've ever seen.

2. [[underline]] Yellow- Billed Cuckoo [[/underline]]- in Jack in Pulpit clearing at 7:45 and 8:45, at tent caterpillar's nest.
3. [[underline]] Wilson's Warbler [[/underline]] - across tracks from Dark Pool, where I sat with Hoover.
