all went to National Theatre to hear [[underlined in red]] Prof. Pupin [[/underlined in red]].  The fight of the Serbs for "Freedom".  Well filled theatre.  Many ladies there.  Evening smoker at the residence of Dr [[underlined in red]] Nevil Monroe Hopkins [[/underlined red]] met Ewing and Dr. Woodward of Carnegie Institute and many other acquaintances.  Enjoyable evening.

Feb'y 18. Sunny morning.  Went to Corcoran Art Gallery then to Pan-American Union bdg. which [[underlined in red]] Celine [[/underlined in red]] liked much.  Afternoon went to National Museum.  [[underlined in red]] Celine [[/underlined in red]] is very tired.  Evening invited Dr. Washington of Geophysical Institution to take supper with us at Shoreham.  then Celine and I went to see play of Annette Kellerman "A model - Girl"

Feb. 19.  At lunch met [[underlined in red]] Ewing [[/underlined in red]] family and Mr Lynch deputy commissioner of patents in Canada.  Afternoon went to Bureau of Standards.  Dr. [[underlined in red]] Stratton [[/underlined in red]] drove us back in his automobile.  Celine went to bed early I went to club.

Feb 20  Another sunny day.  Celine left at 9:00 A.M for New York  I left at 3:05 for [[strikethrough]] Havanah [[/strikethrough]] [[underlined in red]] Havana[[/underlined in red]] via Key-West.  Train pretty well filled.  Shortly after leaving station I hear some spanish altho great majority of passengers seem americans.  During dinner arrived at Richmond.  It was dark.  A large bridge over shallow river. (Potomac?)
