took me thru their big well organized plant, which has only 4 years existence and which employs now 1500 people and which will be further extended before long.  [[red underline]] Kettering [[/red underline]] was formerly head electrical engineer of National Cash Register Co. and [[red underline]] Delco Co. [[/red underline]] is really controlled by National Cash Register co. [[strikethrough]] Deis [[/strikethrough]]
The president [[red underline]] Deeds [[/red underline]] is Vice President of National Cash Register Co.  The [[red underline]] Bakelite department was in full occupation. [[/red underline]]
Several gas heated presses going on.  The employees do piece work and moldings were handled rapidly and very efficiently.  It is truly a wonder to see that in so many years the automobile industry of the United States should have developed to

Took light supper and went to bed early

April 7. Feel pretty well rested altho' that broken feeling like influenza persists.  The visit of [[red underline]] Chryst [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Hunt [[/red underline]] (see April 6) then went to Delco plant etc. (See April 6)
[[strikethrough]] Afterwards [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] The Delco [[/red underline]] works employ 1500 workmen, is very well equipped with extensive testing laboratories, chemical laboratory, etc.  They are preparing to extend the plant further by erecting another large building.  While I was near the freight elevator, I saw [[red underline]] several of our steel barrels [[/red underline]]
