July 12.  Soggy rainy morning.  Went immediately to Hooker office where I met Townsend, Bush, [[strikethrough]] Co [[/strikethrough]] and Dr. Finn [[red underline]] Shaw [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Carpenter [[/red underline]] the latter of the [[red underline]] Dupont de Nemours [[/red underline]] Powder Co to confer about furnishing

Remained there till 5:30 P.M without interruption.  Charge 7 hours to Hooker.  Then back home with 6:15 P.M.

July 13  [[red underline]] Cygnet has been floated [[/red underline]] to Nyack late last night by means of empty beer barrels. but is not yet on the ways.  Went to office  met [[red underline]] May [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Rossi [[/red underline]] there.  [[red underline]] Swan [[/red underline]]and [[red underline]] Gordon [[/red underline]] are finally off with new [[red underline]] No.600 and new plastic sheet [[/red underline]].

Then at 2 P.M. to [[red underline]] Hooker [[/red underline]] to meet [[red underline]] Hebden [[/red underline]] and discuss contract for monochlorbenzol.  Thru at 6 P.M but Townsend and Hooker went with me for supper at Mouquin where we discussed further technical matter.  Charge 6hrs.  Home with 10:45 P.M.
