The expenses for the motor car, gas, oil $5.00 repairs, storage, cleaning and other purchases amounted to $87.50 inclusive a new tire of $35.00 or about [[red underline]] $13.00 [[/red underline]] per day for motor car. The total expenses were:

[[strikethrough]] July 21 (Sunday). A [[/strikethrough]] Afternoon I went to Nyack with my little car to see the [[red underline]] Cygnet [[/red underline]]. Hull is almost repaired with new planking and is scraped. [[red underline]] Petersen [[/red underline]] charges me [[red underline]] $100 [[/red underline]] for raising and hauling out and [[red underline]] Antoninus [[/red underline]] about [[red underline]] $113.00 [[/red underline]] Drove over mountain at [[red underline]] Nyack [[/red underline]] marvelous view over Hudson 
This would be the place to build a house! Then over Palisade road and finally over that new road to [[red underline]] Dyckman street Ferry [[/red underline]]. An extraordinary road well built but winding and a spectacular view, as impressive if not more impressive than anything I have seen on our recent trip. Home in time for supper. Beautiful evening, clear, and cool weather.
