Went for supper to New York and saw a very amusing surgical play, called "The last Laugh" everything happening in on up to date physiological laboratory.

Aug 7 . Busy morning. Planned several [[red underline]] alterations at house also big glass plate door [[/red underline]]

[[red underline]] at dining room as a surprise to Celine, [[/red underline]] also planned two fountains in garden for her. Afternoon went to University Club [[strikethrough]] then [[/strikethrough]] home with 11:30 P.M

Aug 8. (Sunday) Went to fetch Greif of that Motor concern to inspect [[Rallneo?]] Engine in Nyack. [[red underline]] Inspected boat Engine seems all right. [[/red underline]] Boat nearly ready. [[strikethrough]] took lunch with [[/strikethrough]] Greif took lunch with me at Bardin's. Then drove him to 34th st. Subway. Were overtaken by a violent rain storm. Then I went to University Club and sent car home. Took long walk along Riverside till it was dark. Was impressed with [[red underline]] quiet orderly behavior of walkers. This Riverside drive is a beautiful walk towards sun-set. [[/red underline]] Hardly appreciated if rushed thru with a motor car. Walking along with the multitude, and coming back to first principles
