I enjoyed very much my evening but for the fact that on returning home I found a letter from [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] to Celine in which he seems to despair of learning his Spanish and mathematics to pass his exam. [[red underline]] I am very much disappointed [[/red underline]] at this letter and feel [[red underline]] considerably worried [[/red underline]] about it to such an extent [[red underline]] that the idea of George failure to make a success of his studies [[/red underline]] pursued me all night. That he should not succeed in gathering enough mathematics or other preliminary knowledge for pursuing his studies at Cornell seems almost incredible.
