Naval Advisor Speaks at Alumni Reunion - E.R. Warner Chosen New President.

That the United States is far outclassed in the aeroplane field by every foreign power was the assertion of L.H. Baekland, member of the Naval Academy Board, at the annual dinner last night of the Pratt Institute Alumni. More than 100 members were present at the Chemists' Club, Manhatten, and cheered Mr. Baekland's plea for preparedness in technical and scientific lines.

"In the great war to-day a flying machine motor must be able to run consecutively for 600 hours," he said. "We have not an American machine which can run for twenty-four hours."

Other speakers were Herbert L. Pratt, James T. McCleary, Samuel S. Edmands, W.J. Kaup, Charles M. Allen, Allen Rogers and Harry W. Lange. John Helfrich, the retiring president, was toastmaster.
