April 13 Most of day taken up with matters of Naval Board.  Evening to University Club supper with Pepin then to lecture of Stone about Alaska at Engineer's Building.  Met [[red underline]] Hagenaers and Byron Holt. [[/red underline]]
April 14  Orders [[red underline]] keep up well again this month.[[/red underline]] -- A rainy day.  Went to Chemists Club for lunch then immediately to [[red underline]] Brooklyn. [[/red underline]] Long conference with Paulus and Whittier

April 15. A pleasant spring day  Evening for supper at Elwood [[red underline]] Hendrick's [[/red underline]] house with Celine Captain Mitchell Mac

Donald [[/red underline]] there.  Very artistic furniture, tastefully arranged in old house.  Was very favorably impressed by son and daughter of Hendricks.  Fine looking young people.
April 16 (Sunday) Pleasant [[strikethrough]] summer weat [[/strikethrough]] weather [[red underline]] Miss De Vecchi [[/red underline]] here.  I went out alone in afternoon with little car.  Feel very restless and depressed and bored.  I wish I [[red underline]] could go away for a long voyage somewhere. -- My work has lost all interest to me. [[/red underline]]
April 17  Rainy day. [[red underline]] Feel much depressed and uninterested in everything. [[/red underline]] Went for lunch at Chemists Club then to see an american play "Ramona" then to University Club.  What a lot of old  bores!
April 18. [[red underline]] Cement men here laying new borders for road in garden. [[/red underline]]
