April 24. Notwithstanding yesterday's telegram feel considerably worried about [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] and our helplessness. Nobody allowed near him on account of contagion.- So all we can do is to wait patiently. This morning we received a pencil written postal card fro him - undated

Miss Evans back and all day's dictation of belated letters. 
Today got information by [[red underline]] Paulus [[/red underline]] that last Tuesday two of the [[red underline]] workmen in Brooklyn have had their face and hands burnt by hydrogen flame shooting out of oxalate roaster [[/red underline]] They are now in hospital but their condition is improving. I [[red underline]] had warned them much about such [[/red underline]] possible accidents but it appears they were both standing in front of open cylinder when flame suddenly shot out.

This evening got a telegram which was a considerable relief announcing that [[red underline]] George's temperature was almost [[/red underline]] normal and that his [[strikethrough]] has [[/strikethrough]] condition keeps improving.
