Aug. 16. Up early. - calm weather hot sun but do not feel it. [[strikethrough]] Stoppe [[/strikethrough]] Passed along [[underlined]] Esopus [[/underlined]] Island very slowly. Evokes dear memories when [[underlined]] George [[/underlined]] as a boy camped there. Two camps on Island so did not go ashore. Anchored a little further for a swim then fried excellent steak for lunch. 
Aug 17. Left about 7 P.M then thru Hell Gate. arrived Yonkers about 10. A.M. Siren had advised dear [[underlined]] Celine [[/underlined]] of our arrival so she immediately started nice [[end page]]

chicken casserole for us. [[underlined]] George [[/underlined]] was lower end of garden with [[underlined]] his fox [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] two young raccoons X [[/underlined]] for which he has built a netted enclosure. - he was sketching their heads. - [[underlined]] seems happy and smiling much betters. [[/underlined]] Went to buy some provisions blankets etc. in Youters. Then [[underlined]] Celine [[/underlined]] came aboard while we lunched on [[underlined]] that excellent chicken [[/underlined]] she had so generously provided - always thinking of others. She stayed aboard till next landing - [[underlined]] Greystone, [[/underlined]] where Albert took her in motor car.
[[strikethrough]] Aug 1. [[/strikethrough]] We dropped anchor just towards dark at [[underlined]] New Hamburg. [[/underlined]] Noisy place - locomotives - and much exposed to rolling by passing steamers. Calm night - nice and cool. I slept on deck on a cot, wrapped in a blanket so as to escape
