Away early to Pennsylvania Station to join trip of Sub-Committee of [[underlined in red]] Naval Board [[/underlined in red]] for determining site for new [[underlined in red]] Naval Laboratory. [[/underlined in red]]
Present Frank [[underlined in red]] Sprague, Robins, Whitney, Addicks and myself - [[/underlined in red]] (Edison absent) 
At [[strikethrough]] Brookl [[/strikethrough]] [[underlined in red]] Philadelphia Navy Yard, Captain Russell [[/underlined in red]] commandant, kept us waiting for almost an hour then arrived and escorted us with [[strikethrough]] two [[/strikethrough]] one of his aides [[underlined in red]] thruout buildings and [[/underlined in red]] grounds. [[underlined in red]] Place decidedly [[/underlined in red]] more orderly and [[underlined in red]] better kept than Brooklyn Navy Yard [[/underlined in red]] but less accessible. Very spacious and well kept basins with many Battle-ships in them and much space left for others. Captain
