Anybody who does not know this kind of yachting can hardly imagine it. In fact I have had no time to read a paper nor a book. whatever reading there is to be done relates to our course.
Left [[underlined in red]] Beaufort [[/underlined in red]] about 11 A.M. everything looks bright and sunny Then into [[underlined in red]] Bogue Sound [[/underlined in red]] where it is a constant watch for shoal places. The [[underlined in red]] whole sound is so shallow that if something happened we could walk out of the [[/underlined in red]] boat and walk ashore, but just this is the trouble. Spent large part of the day sounding and sounding - not with the regular sound line but by dropping boathook in the water
