It rains outside [[underlined in red]] but how snug and comfortable this little cabin of my toy boat feels, well lighted up by its electric lamps. [[underlined in red]] Bright and cheerful. And how my little toy boat managed to get thru [[strikethrough]] scho [[/strikethrough]] shoals and sharp bends to day; and only yesterday and day before how pluckily it took [[underlined in red]] those big waves in the ocean. [[/underlined in red]]
This morning I visited the Wilrose a big motor yacht about 70 feet long, fitted up with several staterooms and [[strikethrough]] privat [[/strikethrough]] big dining room and generally provided with all comforts but [[underlined in red]] how dark and cheerless [[/underlined in red]] everything looked [[underlined in red]] compared to my [[/underlined in red]]

little toy-yacht. A [[underlined in red]] hot galley with a big hot working stove made me think of a congested factory. And the quarters for the crew all cheerless places. [[/underlined in red]] Here at least you are near sky, air, [[underlined in red]] and water and compelled [[/underlined in red]] to lead the simple life, safe for the feeling that there is always a comfortable altho' simple little cabin to shelter you.
The Yacht Club [[strikethrough]] offer, Charlest Carlo [[/strikethrough]] Carolina Y.C. altho' well situated on the battery [[underlined in red]] gives poor sh [[/strikethrough]] and altho' good anchorage in calm weather offers poor shelter when the wind blows. In fact the cyclone of a few years ago did most damage to the buildings near the Yacht Club.
Oct. 30. It is still cloudy and looks rainy but I got out at about 7 AM to get telegrams and letters. Took breakfast at St. John's
