Beaufort S.C. [[/red underline]] looks very pretty at a distance. Its wharves and business part does not attract but the pretty houses on the wooded shores, when approaching the [[strikethrough]] city [[/strikethrough]] town look very pretty.
Later on we passed [[red underline]] Port Royal [[/red underline]] and the Naval Station. There is no wind and the weather is perfect. The water is as smooth as plate glass and buoys can be distinguished at a great distance.
Altho' I still feel much irritated at the conduct of Johnson this shall not spoil this beautiful day. [[red underline]] This landscape alternately with marshes and woodlands and its rows [[/red underline]]

^[[undulating]] wake of our ship in the smooth water makes a stunning picture. [[/red underline]] Later on the sunset brought any diversity of color [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] from golden yellow to fire-red, this back ground of palms enhances the picture.
We finally enter a narrow winding passage, with rather sharply defined banks of oyster shells below the marshes, it is called [[red underline]] Rainstorm Creek [[/red underline]] and deserves its name. this made an excellent shelter for the night
It is neither warm nor cold and no wind. I note however that a few [[red underline]] mosquitoes [[/red underline]] come around while I am sitting on deck admiring this [[strikethrough]] quiet [[/strikethrough]] landscape.
