Evening went to see a play at the Comedy Theatre by
the Washington Square Players. Coming back to the Club I note that some of the hot headed partisans are beginning to talk with some more tendency of fairness towards their political opponents.
Feb. 2. Newspapers of different political colors [[underlined in red]] seem to have dropped their acute opposition [[/underlined]] to the present administration. Some of the politicians in Washington who were relentless towards
[[underlined in red]] Wilson [[/underlined]] take a more conciliatory attitude. [[underlined in red]] Break with Germany seems very probable. [[/underlined in red]]

me that [[underlined in red]] Nina [[/underlined]] had passed well her exams at Vassar which was 
very pleasant news to me specially because I had began to doubt whether she would be allowed to stay at Vassar.
From [[underlined in red]] George [[/underlined]] too came news that his record in [[underlined in red]] Geology [[/underlined]] and other branches was so good that he had been exempted of taking exams. This is indeed excellent news and gives
me hope [[underlined in red]] that our children will [[/underlined]] benefit by their [[underlined in red]] unusual educational [[/underlined]]
opportunities.
Went to visit Metropolitan Museum of Art. Impressed with the vastness and variety of collections, and everything so well kept. [[underlined in red]] How few New Yorkers know about all this. [[/underlined]] - Very cold weather biting wind.
