[[red underlined]] Cynicism and sarcasm and cheap wit [[/red underlined]] may [[red underlined]] amuse [[/red underline]] for a moment but their destructive tendencies destroy their author at the same time.  It is a [[red underlined]] sword that cuts both ways, a sort of boomerang. [[/red underlined]]
The whole afternoon [[red underlined]] almost every minute taken up [[/red underlined]] by [[strikethrough]] dis [[/strikethrough]] never ending discussions, which make me very tired.

[[/red  underlined]] Teeple says main thing is first to take decision whether [[double red underlined]] he [[/double red underlined]] [[red underlined]] shall be reappointed. [[/red underlined]] (He was not reappointed)
July 10. [[red underlined]] Excess profit tax [[/red underlined]] [[strikethrough]] now [[strikethrough]] heavy demand in Congress since several months, seems to be extended more and more and will cut [[red underlined]] heavily in earnings of many industrial companies. [[/red underlined]] I intend to [[red underlined]] sell many of [[/red underlined]] my industrial securities. [[strikethrough]] I am under the [[/strikethrough]] I believe that these prices will go down considerably as soon as holders realize that their dividends must be cut.
July 11. Went to Directors' meeting of [[red underlined]] General Bakelite Co. [[red underlined]] Everybody there but Williams. Sales again [[red underlined[[ $107,000 [[/red underlined]] this month but [[red underlined]] prices of raw materials go up and raw material difficult to obtain [[/red underlined]]
