Finally into Philada [[strikethrough]] noisy co [[/strikethrough]] at first pretty avenues of lower Chestnut street, then the congested district congested streets, [[strikethrough]]] fr [[/strikethrough]] narrow and full of traffic. Finally reached Camden Ferry [[strikethrough]] my [[/strikethrough]] mileage is now 628. Left Ferry at 3:40.  First excellent macadam road, then straight monotonous sand roads [[strikethrough]] throu [[/strikethrough]]

thru shrub woods.  Farms and country decidedly less well kept than in Maryland or Pennsylvania.  Took tea and rested for awhile at Little White Tea House at White Horse pike above [[underline]] Egg Harbor. [[/underline]]  This gave me chance to wash and refresh.  Face and hands burned by sun. Took in 9 gallons gasoline.  Got excellent room at Graymore Hotel.  The most huge hotel I ever saw.  Charges pretty steep.  $8.00 a night.  But what a restful room!  It is very hot and sultry.

Excellent rest.  My wrists are swollen by sunburn.  Restful day mostly spent indoors and some walking.
