On arriving at [[underlined in red]] Elizabethtown [[/underlined in red]] I find rear spare tire and rim has broken off and lies somewhere lost on the road and has torn of rear lamp and rear license number. Concluded to stop overnight at Deer's Head Inn. [[strikethrough]] Clean [[/strikethrough]] Simple but clean. and entirely satisfactory. [[strikethrough]] A [[/strikethrough]]Windsor Hotel across the street, somewhat bigger and seems better equipped.

chances and drove to [[underlined in red]] Lake Placid [[/underlined in red]] by State Road - long way over [[strikethrough]] Upper [[/strikethrough]] Jay. [[underlined in red]] Lake Placid [[/underlined in red]] seems quite a lively little place, many visitors. Went to [[underlined in red]] "Stevens House" commanding [[/underlined in red]] beautiful view over Lake and mountains. But the hotel is [[underlined in red]] wretchedly managed [[/underlined in red]] and rooms dirty and regular firetraps. Hotel crowded like a bee hive. [[underlined in red]] So late in afternoon made up my mind to pack up again [[/underlined in red]] and ventured along narrow but picturesque mountain road to [[underlined in red]] Cascade Lakes [[/underlined in red]] where I found a simple and small but clean and cheerful hotel just in front of the Lakes [[strikethrough]] belo [[/strikethrough]] in a narrow gorge. 
People here are mostly from Buffalo, Plainfield and similar places. A general
