Dec. 24. Train 2 hours late. Telephoned to [[red underline]] Rossi [[/red underline]] about deed of [[red underline]] real Estate [[/red underline]] at Perth Amboy. Calls my attention to some flaws and went to see [[red underline]] Creevey [[/red underline]] about it. Creevey thinks [[red underline]] this is not so. [[/red underline]] 
Afterwards went for supper at University Club then home. Roads have been cleared enough of snow to allow a passage.

[[/double black underline]] Miss [[red underline]] Anthony and Nina [[/red underline]] here.- Celine and I much think of [[red underline]] our absent [[/red underline]] boy. Found two more [[red underline]] letters of him [[/red underline]] which say very little beyond that he is well and cheerful. [[red underline]] Censorship forbids him to give any details which otherwise might be interesting. [[/red underline]] 
At dinner [[red underline]] when we drank to him, [[/red underline]] there were a few moments [[red underline]] when Celine and myself had a gulp in our throat. [[/red underline]] 
I was busy all day with belated work. Usual distribution of Christmas Checks to everybody.
Evening Celine, [[red underline]] Clairette and Nina [[/red underline]] went to theatre in New York. Used the evening to [[red underline]] write a heart to heart letter to dear boy George. [[/red underline]]
