so went back to the Club [[strikethrough]] wit [[/strikethrough]] with some of my collegues. Others went to Packard plant to see new [[red underline]] Depere plane and Bugetti motor [[/red underline]] of which they [[strikethrough]] report [[/strikethrough]] brought back enthusiastic reports
Last night we had a general meeting at which [[red underline]] Howard E. Coffin [[/red underline]] told us his troubles and the [[red underline]] history of the Air-Craft Board. [[/red underline]] 
Took 6:10 train for New York. During night weather became [[strikethrough]] cooler [[/strikethrough]] cooler.
Aug 10 (Sunday) Much cooler weather. Restful day here. [[red underline]] Mrs. Lanquet [[/red underline]] here with [[red underline]] Capart [[/red underline]] for lunch.
Aug 11. At home all day.

Sultry, rainey and thunder storms; Since several days in succession [[red underline]] news from Western Front continues very good. May be the war will not last so long as we expect. [[/red underline]]

Aug 14. [[red underline]] Nina [[/red underline]] came back early in the morning from Adirondacks. [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] I left with the Oldsmobile alone north^[[wards]] not knowing exactly where. I have a small tent along so it does not matter 
Left at 7:30 AM. and 10 A.M passed thru Poughkeepsie. Arrived at Albany at 1:30 P.M. It was very hot. Stayed at Ten Eyck Hotel. Very noisy neighborhood. Trolley cars - motor cars etc. Night was cooler & pleasant. The view above the city and environs from the Pergola dining room of the Ten Eyck.
