this country he has in a lighthead way [[red underline]] misjudged the whole situation [[/red underline]]
Aug. 19. A beautiful serene day. [[red underline]] Walked 10 miles around Mirror lake this [[/red underline]] morning. 
Aug 20. My bill for [[red underline]] two [[/red underline]] days is $36.10 (!), of which [[red underline]] $24.00 [[/red underline]] for my room. Regular charge for room is $7.00 for bath is $1.00 = $8.00 per day but they tell me there is [[red underline]] 50% increase [[/red underline] for rooms used less than 4 weeks. Meals are 3.50 a day. Garage $1.00 per day. These are about the [[red underline]] most expensive hotel charges ever made to me. [[/red underline] 
Left about [[strikethrough]] 3:00 [[/strikethrough]] 3 P.M. motored thru Saranac Lake then to Paul Smith's and back then over Lake Placid along [[red underline]] Ausable River [[/red underline] then short cut to Upper Jay. Ate a box of sardines and some crackers along the road
