Chemists Club for a meeting of the [[red underline]] Tariff Commission. Taunig [[/red underline]] presiding but Dr. [[red underline]] Grinell Jones conducting [[/red underline]] the meeting in order to determine correct wording for [[red underline]] Tariff law including  phenolic [[/red underline]] condensation products.  [[red underline]] Kirk Brown of Condensite and Redman of Redmanol there also Weiss and Jaynes of Barret [[/red underline]] and another man of [[red underline]] Dupont [[/red underline]] there.  Brown was tractable enough but [[red underline]] Redman [[/red underline]] balked at the wording of report of Jones because it mentioned [[red underline]] Hexamethyl as equivalent to formaldehyde.  I got pretty well disgusted. [[/red underline]]
Had late hurried lunch with Celine in pastry shop then motored back to Yonkers  At supper George joined

us with Tiss for supper.  At [[red underline]] supper more fragments of George's experience. Then he kept "cooing" till late. [[/red underline]]
Dec 8 (Sunday) George and [[red underline]] Tiss [[/red underline]] here all day.  I feel rather tired and dull.  [[red underline]] Albert [[/red underline]] left for Florida to night. [[strikethrough]] Then [[/strikethrough]]  [[left margin His whole arsenal of fire arms which he left in care of Pete Lasher is returned here. [[/left margin]]
Dec 9. [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] left early with [[strikethrough]] Piet [[/strikethrough]] Pete Lasher's car.  Has to [[red underline]] stay for about eight days more in service.  [[/red underline]] He came home to night[[strikethrough]] after [[/strikethrough]] at about ten. [[strikethrough]] Ten [[/strikethrough]]
Dec 10. [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] Celine and I  left with early train for New York.  [[red underline]] George [[/red underline]] to his camp.  I to [[red underline]] Columbia to meet Pupin and Robin [[/red underline]] in regard to Supersonic experiments.
Afternoon met Dr. [[red underline]] Blanc [[/red underline]] at May's office.  He tells us about [[red underline]] financial straights and [[?]] of Synthite Co and that Dr. Beatty [[/red underline]]
