Rialto Moving Picture show. Very good and excellent music, then to University club for supper.
May 16. Rainy day. Went to [[red underline]] Nyack [[/red underline]] as soon as I cold get thru my correspondence.  [[red underline]] Celine [[/red underline]] and [[red underline]] Nina [[/red underline]] accompanied us in car.  [[strikethrough]] A hard tussle with engine. Trouble [[/strikethrough]] [[red underline]] Boat was launched, [[/red underline]] water and gasoline (3 barrels) taken in. Then [[red underline]] tried to start the engine [[/red underline]] but in vain.  [[red underline]] Albert [[/red underline]] worked hard at it but [[red underline]] no success. [[/red underline]]  Every possible cause discussed. [[red underline]] Stayed aboard at anchor over [[/red underline]] night. This is the day [[red underline]] Lamme [[/red underline]] of Naval Consulting Board gets the [[red underline]] Edison Medal. [[/red underline]]

Unable to get there so sent telegram.
[[red underline]] Cold night, [[/red underline]] chilly and damp [[red underline]] slept [[strikethrough]] all [[/strikethrough]] in [[/red underline]] my clothes between several thicknesses of [[red underline]] canvass. [[/red underline]] Boat [[red underline]] leaks badly. [[/red underline]] Spent much time at the bilge pump. Finally got a [[red underline]] stupid Dane [[/red underline]] to do the pumping for us. [[red underline]] Dinghy [[/red underline]] leaks [[red underline]] fearfully [[/red underline]] and is full of water. The [[red underline]] Dane [[/red underline]] tries his hand at caulking the Dinghy but little improvement. Went to bed tired and [[red underline]] disgusted. [[/red underline]]
May 17. Telephoned home to find[[red underline]] James [[/red underline]] to help us. Violent rain storm and thunder and lightning, so much that James nor Albert were unable to [[strikethrough]] aft [[/strikethrough]] board
