Canal. [[red underline]] What is most [[/red underline]] impressive is the [[red underline]] cheerful clean surroundings all along the canal. [[/red underline]] Looks like an orderly, clean well kept country. The towns or villages, with [[red underline]] their simple and cheerful appearing [[/red underline]] houses some in wood, some in concrete with red tiled roofs. impose the idea of [[red underline]] comfort and cheerfulness. [[/red underline]] A totally different impression than one gets usually in tropical countries [[red underline]] [[red ! in left margin]] No true American can fail to feel proud in this magnificent achievement which includes a most brilliant success in this first wholesale effort of tropical sanitation [[/red underline]] I believe that for many of the South Americans who travel thru the canal this in itself will become [[red underline]] an object lesson which some of them [[/red underline]]
