This afternoon we passed on starboard a set of [[underlined in red]] Guano Islands. [[/underlined in red]] Bare naked peaks with no vegetation and thousands of black pelicans flying around, now in line formation then without order, the sky sometimes black with them. One of the peaks has a light house, another a large wooden cross made of two crossed poles. Below on the rocks there are [[underlined in red]] many seals. [[/underlined in red]] The place is entirely [[underlined in red]] uninhabited [[/underlined in red]] except for one or two men who live there and have charge of a little rickety wharf and store house where the [[underlined in red]] Guano [[/underlined in red]] is kept. This [[underlined in red]] Guano [[/underlined in red]] is used for sugar plantations on the coast. To night distribution of
