Finally got at anchor about noon in [[red underline]] [[red underline]] Manhasset Bay. [[/red underline]] Later on lifted anchor and went around [[red underline]] East Chester Bay, City Island [[/red underline]] etc. finally anchoring over night in [[red underline]] Little Neck Bay [[/red underline]] near Bayside Yacht Club. Thunder and rain storm as usual. Took measurement for new parts on engine and kept at it till about 10P.M
Aug 22 (Sunday) Calm hazy morning. After doing some more fitting on piping of engine lifted anchor. then thru [[red underline]] Hell Gate to Spuyten [[/red underline]] Duivel moorings. where we arrived at 12:45. Having run in all since 10:30 A.M. or about 2 1/4 hs. Gasoline at start 70 gals at finish 61 gal Lewis left at about 2 P.M. while I stayed aboard to take my

lunch. Sultry cloudy weather lunch. and supper. Lewis came to fetch me with Motor car at 8 P.M. Slept in [[red underline]] Snug Rock [[/red underline]] everything quiet and comfortable.
Aug 23. Busy day reading accumulated correspondence. letter writing checks, etc. in mean time Lewis and I busy in shop getting equipment for Ion. Lewis went to [[red underline]] Ion afternoon I drove to New York. Supper at University Club visited for a few minutes Chemists Club, Century & Columbia U.C. drove back about 10 PM
Aug 25. Hectic activity in getting fittings for boat and change in carburetor system. Drove around Yonkers for various supplies
