Cove ^[[("Narrow-Reach")]] after passing thru sharp bend buoyed with two red buoys. Excellent anchorage, well protected in ^[[a]] little landlocked harbor.
Quiet night. A few fishermens houses nearby.  Anchorage is just out of the current.
Nov. 7 (Sunday). Mackerel sky and somewhat cloudy but high barometer. Threatens rain
Started motor 8:45 A.M. Tide against us. Lifted anchor 8:50. SE breeze.

Northern Course wind starboard quarter strengthening breeze. Stopped several times [[red underline]] shooting ducks which are [[/red underline]] getting more and more abundant. Caught one but lost considerable

Changed course to 22° Mag + 8 dev. at 4:00 P.M.  Then for beacon near Poplar Island. Look out for ^[[3']] shoal marked by [[strikethrough]] tree [[/strikethrough]] bush just behind! Then picked up striped buoy and steered E towards wharf, and dropped anchor at 5:05 P.M. Excellent protection against SE and sufficient against N and E.
Quiet neighborhood. During night breeze freshened.
This is Haddaway Cove, opposite is Poplar Island Harbor.
Several small oyster craft in neighborhood.
Nov 8. Up early. Weather fine slight
